For anyone looking for a fresh take on pizza, try making it with caramelized onions and rocket lettuce on ciabatta bread… not forgetting, of course, the pepperoni.

  • 4 leaves fresh basil, slivered (optional)
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) Parmesan cheese shavings
  • 1/2 onion (large), minced
  • 1/2 baguette, cut in two
  • 100 ml store-bought Marinara sauce
  • 50 g arugula
  • 175 g Olymel pepperoni, sliced
  • to taste dried oregano
  • 175 g pizza cheese, grated
  • 7 ml (1/2 tablespoon) balsamic vinegar
  • 8 leaves fresh basil, slivered (optional)
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoon) Parmesan cheese shavings
  • 1 onion (large), minced
  • 1 baguette, cut in two
  • 200 ml store-bought Marinara sauce
  • 100 g arugula
  • 350 g Olymel pepperoni, sliced
  • to taste dried oregano
  • 350 g pizza cheese, grated

  • 45 ml (3 tablespoon) Parmesan cheese shavings

  • 1 1/2 baguettes, cut in two

  • 525 g Olymel pepperoni, sliced

  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) Parmesan cheese shavings

  • 2 baguettes, cut in two
  • 400 ml store-bought Marinara sauce
  • 200 g arugula
  • 700 g Olymel pepperoni, sliced
  • to taste dried oregano
  • 700 g pizza cheese, grated
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoon) balsamic vinegar
  • 350 g Olymel Amoré pepperoni
  • 1 ciabatta-style baguette
  • 350 g grated pizza cheese mix
  • 200 ml marinara sauce
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 100 g arugula leaves
  • 8 fresh basil leaves, shredded with scissors
  • 45 ml (3 tablespoons) olive oil
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan shavings
  • dried oregano
  • salt and freshly ground pepper

instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. (205° C.).
  2. Warm a little olive oil in a frying pan, add chopped onion and cook, stirring, until onions are caramelized. Season with oregano, salt and freshly ground pepper. Set aside.
  3. Cut the ciabatta-style baguette in half lengthwise. Brush the outside with olive oil. Place on a baking sheet and top with tomato sauce, caramelized onions, pepperoni and basil, ending with the cheese. Bake in the oven until cheese has browned. Cut into four equal pieces.
  4. Place arugula in a bowl and combine with parmesan, remaining olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Add salt and pepper and top ciabattas with arugula salad.
