Mild Italian sausage cannelloni au gratin

When Mom's away on business, it's Dad's turn to make supper! There's nothing like serving cannelloni baked with cheese and sausage to really be appreciated!

- 1½ packages precooked cannelloni
- 3 cups Marinara sauce
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Stuffing
- 1 package (450 g) Olymel mild Italian sausage (or any other flavour of your choice)
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1 onion, minced
- 2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. rosemary
- 2 tsp. basil
- ¼ cup tomato paste
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 egg, beaten
- Freshly ground salt and pepper, to taste
instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (190°C) and remove sausage meat from casings.
- In large saucepan, heat up oil and brown garlic and onion for two minutes. Add sausage meat and minced pork, cook and drain excess fat. Incorporate tomato paste and fine herbs and cook for five minutes. Remove from heat and cool down. Incorporate Parmesan cheese and egg to meat mix and mix thoroughly. Stuff cannelloni with mix.
- Coat bottom of baking pan with Marinara sauce and place cannelloni on top. Add a bit of sauce and sprinkle with Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake in oven for approximately 30 minutes.
