Mini puff pastries with Spicy Italian sausages and grilled vegetables

This summer, put on a murder mystery with a Italian theme. Serve these mini puff pastries with Spicy Italian sausage and grilled vegetables as an appetizer. You'll see, they're killer!
ingredients
Mini Puff Pastries
- 1 package (450g) Olymel Spicy Italian Sausages, diced
- 1 package store-bought puff pastry dough
- 100 ml store-bought pizza tomato sauce
- 200 g Mozzarella cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp. fresh basil, chopped (optional)
- All-purpose flour
Grilled Vegetables
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) olive oil
- ½ red bell pepper, cut in wide strips
- ½ green bell pepper, cut in wide strips
- ½ onion, cut in wide strips
- 1 zucchini, cut in two lengthwise, then sliced on a slant
- Freshly ground salt and pepper, to taste
- Glaze
- 1 egg, beaten in a little milk
instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 °F (205 °C).
- On baking sheet, mix vegetables with 2 tbsp. (30 ml) oil. Add salt and pepper. Grill vegetables in oven 10 to 15 minutes (or until nicely grilled), stirring from time to time. Add garlic, mix and cook five minutes.
- Cool down, cut in small dice and set aside.
Mini Puff Pastries
- In frying pan, cook diced sausage and add grilled vegetables; remove from heat and add fresh chopped basil.
- Roll dough on floured surface, cut into 24 circles or squares about 10 cm in size and brush with glaze.
- Top half of dough with a bit of tomato sauce (5 ml), sausage mix and a bit of cheese. Fold dough, carefully press edges with fork, place on pizza pan and brush with glaze. Cook in oven at 400 °F (205 °C) approximately 10 minutes. Remove from oven and serve hot.
